Large-corporation job postings in the semiconductor and display sectors rose 102% year-on-year in the third quarter, according to an analysis published by the recruitment platform JobKorea. The figures include postings from subsidiaries and affiliates.
Demand was weighted toward experienced workers. Experienced-hire semiconductor postings increased 157% year-on-year, compared with a 55% rise in entry-level postings. Cumulative large-corporation postings for semiconductor engineers were up 55%, against 17% growth across the overall job market.
Candidate interest tracked the same direction: cumulative views of large-corporation semiconductor postings climbed 64%, JobKorea said.
Gains across other sectors
Logistics and transportation led the other sectors measured, with large-corporation postings up 130% year-on-year. Pharmaceutical and biotech postings rose 58%, construction 37%, and automotive, shipbuilding, steel and aviation 19%.
JobKorea attributed the attention to hiring announcements from Samsung Electronics, SK hynix and Hyundai Motor as the second-half recruitment season got under way.
