Kakao Makers Opens Local Shop Promotion Until October 31
Kakao said 20 small businesses will offer about 50 products through Kakao Makers, with first-come-first-served coupons from 5 p.m. on October 16.
Kakao announced on October 16, 2026 that its commerce platform Kakao Makers will run a local merchant promotion, "Taste and Style of Local Shops at Makers - Regulars from Everywhere," until October 31, according to techm.kr.
Twenty small businesses are taking part: 12 food and beverage shops in Gangwon and 8 shops in Gongju and Mokpo. They will offer about 50 products through the promotion. Kakao will provide first-come-first-served coupons starting at 5 p.m. on October 16.
The company also said it plans to give participating small businesses up to 100 million won worth of benefits per store by the end of the year.
Separately, Kakao held the "2026 TOPS Kakao Networking Day" on October 15 at Kakao Pangyo Agit for 60 second-stage TOPS sellers. TOPS is Kakao's small business brand fostering program.
Earlier, in August 2026, Kakao selected 12 final shops in 7 cities in Gangwon Province through the "Dan-gol Shop" program, with a competition rate of 26 to 1. In July 2026, the company ran a pilot "Gotgot" project in Mokpo.
In the first stage of TOPS, Kakao provided e-commerce training and one-on-one consulting to 300 companies, selecting 60 excellent sellers for the second stage.
