KDE ships Plasma 6.8.2 with fixes for Discover and remote desktop crashes
The point release also addresses notification and cloned-panel regressions from Plasma 6.8, according to This Week in Plasma.
KDE has released Plasma 6.8.2, a point update that fixes a set of regressions reported after Plasma 6.8. The maintenance release was detailed in the KDE community's This Week in Plasma blog and reported by xda-developers.com.
Plasma 6.8.2 addresses three separate crash paths in Discover that could occur while the app was updating the system. It also fixes a crash affecting remote desktop sessions launched from within a Flatpak.
The wider batch of fixes covers notifications that appeared in the top-left corner when they had not been requested, and cloned panels that forgot which screen they were assigned to. A further fix targets a crash that occurred when the launcher widget was opened by keyboard shortcut while more than 16 combined screens, virtual desktops and activities were present.
Not every issue made it into this release. KDE moved some fixes to the Plasma 6.9 schedule, including a bug where the Web Browser widget's Full Screen button failed to enter full-screen mode.
Plasma 6.8 itself shipped on October 14.
