Lotte Hotel & Resort reports bot-defense results at Trust Sphere 2026
A Proof of Value on Imperva Advanced Bot Protection analyzed more than 330 million requests and blocked or flagged about 8.2 million suspicious ones.
Lotte Hotel & Resort presented the results of a bot-defense Proof of Value run on Imperva Advanced Bot Protection at Trust Sphere 2026 Korea on October 29, according to Daily Secu. The company's CISO and CPO spoke at the event, which was hosted by Thales and sponsored by Daily Secu at The Grand Lotte Hotel, on AI bot and intelligent bot response strategy and operational lessons.
The Proof of Value ran from May 11 to August 2026 across web, mobile app and API traffic, using Advanced Bot Protection inside the company's Imperva Cloud WAAP system. More than 330 million requests were analyzed, of which about 89 million, roughly 27 percent, came from overseas. About 8.2 million suspicious requests were blocked or identified, including about 1.2 million large-scale scraping requests.
Between the third week of May and the second week of June, legacy bad bot detection found about 639,000 cases, while behavior-based classification found about 2.413 million, roughly 3.8 times more.
The company said average hotel site traffic fell 20 to 30 percent as low-value automated requests were controlled. Its business logic attack detection indicator rose from 0 percent in the third quarter of 2025 to over 80 percent in the second quarter of 2026.
Lotte Hotel & Resort also applied JavaScript challenges to access from a specific IP range, blocking it at the information-gathering stage.
Earlier analysis
In a third-quarter 2025 internal traffic analysis, automated attacks accounted for 76 percent of traffic while business logic attacks were 0 percent. The company then adopted Imperva Advanced Bot Protection within Imperva Cloud WAAP to add behavior-based identification.
