Lotte Innovate Shows AI Cameras and Driverless Shuttle at ITS Congress

At its booth in Gangneung, visitors can steer an autonomous MUVU shuttle located in Daegu and watch it move live, according to techm.kr.

Lotte Innovate is exhibiting cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS), AI-based smart tolling and autonomous driving technology at the 2026 ITS World Congress in Gangneung, running from October 19 to 23, 2026.

The company's 135 square meter booth at the Gangneung Speed Skating Arena carries the theme "Connect to Innovate" and is split into three zones: C-ITS, smart tolling and autonomous driving.

In the C-ITS zone, Lotte Innovate presents accident-prevention technology that uses AI cameras, lidar and roadside units (RSU) to detect pedestrians in blind spots and relay the information to vehicles. The smart tolling zone demonstrates AI image-based toll collection that reads license plates in real time without a Hi-pass terminal, and includes a recognition experience using Korean, Malaysian and Japanese plate images.

The autonomous driving zone combines Lotte Innovate's driverless MUVU shuttle with a large curved LED display for a virtual ride. Visitors can also remotely control the shuttle at a driving test site in Daegu, about 300 km from Gangneung, and watch the vehicle move in real time.

During the congress, an MUVU shuttle is operating between the parking lot in front of the Olympic Museum and Gangneung Beach, according to techm.kr.
