LumenUs, a grief care platform that uses AI to automate administrative tasks after a death, will launch in early access in October, according to TechCrunch. The company is also a participant in this year's Startup Battlefield 200.
The platform handles paperwork that follows a death, including finding tax forms, filing insurance claims and closing bank accounts.
LumenUs was founded last year by Sara Tashakorinia, who is building the company alongside co-founders Sajad Mirzaei and Larry Keeley.
TechCrunch Disrupt runs October 13-15 in San Francisco, where Startup Battlefield 200 companies present.
Founder's experience shaped the product
Eight years ago, Tashakorinia's husband died in a car accident, which led her to deal with roughly 570 hours of paperwork to settle a loved one's affairs.
