Report: Redesigned MacBook Pro Lighter, Due by November

Bloomberg's Power On says Apple's revamped MacBook Pro uses a reengineered interior to cut weight, with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips and a launch before the end of November.

Apple's redesigned MacBook Pro will reportedly be "significantly lighter" than its predecessors, thanks to a reengineered interior with miniaturized and rearranged components, according to the latest issue of Bloomberg's Power On newsletter by Mark Gurman. The machine is expected to debut before the end of November.

The new laptops are expected to be powered by M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. According to the report, Apple has decided to skip the higher-end part of the M6 family to accelerate the M7 launch.

The report also states that macOS Golden Gate will include changes to support touch and the Dynamic Island, alongside the debut of macOS 27.2.

The new MacBook Pro has long been rumored to be Apple's first touchscreen MacBook and the first with Tandem OLED, per earlier reports. For comparison, the current 16-inch MacBook Pro weighs as much as 4.8 pounds, while the 15-inch MacBook Air weighs 3.3 pounds.

Past reports have described the upcoming MacBook Pro as thinner.
