Microsoft Unveils Decision-1 AI Model for Structured Choices

Microsoft's new Decision-1 model returns calibrated probability scores and is 4.5 times faster than Quyet-1.0-Large, available through Microsoft Foundry and OpenRouter.

Microsoft on October 9, 2026 unveiled a new AI model called Microsoft-Decision-1, specialized for structured decision-making tasks. The initial version is built on Quyen3.5-9B, with plans to expand to Microsoft's MAI and other OpenAI models, according to aitimes.com.

Microsoft-Decision-1 supports up to 32,000 tokens of input context in a single pass and returns calibrated probability scores for fixed choices in a single inference. It is 4.5 times faster than Quyet-1.0-Large and up to 35 times faster than GPT-6 Sol, Microsoft said.

The model is available through Microsoft Foundry and OpenRouter, priced at $0.042 per million input tokens with free output tokens.

Separately, OpenAI launched its Decisions API in public beta on October 7, 2026. The Decisions API is up to 10 times faster than GPT-6 Luna through the Responses API, OpenAI said.
