Mobile Pixels launches Prisma 40-inch 5K monitor on Kickstarter at $999

The Prisma bundles a Mac mini and Mac Studio cradle, dock, KVM switch and an M.2 SSD slot; the discounted 260-unit allocation is nearly gone.

Mobile Pixels has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the Prisma, a 40-inch curved 5K monitor with an integrated docking station, at an introductory price of $999. The display's retail price is set at $1,600, a 38% discount for early backers.

The Prisma uses an LG IPS Black panel with a 5120 x 2160 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and supports quasi-10-bit color.

Connectivity includes USB-C, USB-A and USB-B ports, SD and microSD readers, and a KVM switch. The monitor also carries an M.2 SSD expansion slot and a 15W wireless charging pad.

A built-in cradle holds an Apple Mac mini or Mac Studio and includes an active cooling fan. A retractable iPhone mount supports Continuity Camera, Center Stage and Desk View.

The discounted allocation is 260 units, with five remaining at the time of writing, according to TechRadar. Shipping charges can reach $80 depending on the buyer's location.

The campaign has raised $434,707 from 392 backers against a $15,000 goal, with 23 days remaining. Deliveries are estimated for January 2027.
