Mozilla opens enterprise add-on channel on AMO from December 1, 2026

Enterprise add-ons submitted through the new channel fall under a separate policy and will not be listed publicly on addons.mozilla.org.

Mozilla announced on October 28, 2026 that addons.mozilla.org (AMO) will get a dedicated release channel for enterprise add-ons, opening on December 1, 2026, according to forest.watch.impress.co.jp.

Versions submitted through the enterprise channel follow a new enterprise add-on policy and are not listed publicly on AMO. Mozilla said it will not distribute enterprise-channel versions by any other means.

Mozilla describes the enterprise policy as limited in scope, cutting the manual review workload for reviewers. Enterprise add-ons remain subject to the company's Acceptable Use Policy, and all developers must agree to an updated Firefox Add-on Distribution Agreement.

Developers declare an add-on as enterprise-only by setting browser_specific_settings.gecko.admin_install_only to true in the Manifest and submitting it through the enterprise channel. The full policy text will be published on Extension Workshop; the current policy applies until December 1, 2026.

Developers of public add-ons must accept the updated distribution agreement but keep their existing submission and review process. IT administrators do not need to change how they deploy add-ons through Firefox Enterprise Policies.

Why the separate channel

Until now, AMO's review process made no distinction between public and enterprise add-ons, so enterprise add-ons waited in the same review queue.
