Netflix Adds AI Discover Tab to TV App in US Rollout
The experimental feature offers themed recommendations by mood and viewing situation, starting with English-language TV users in the US.
Netflix has added an "AI Discover" tab to the top menu of its TV app, launching first for TV users in the US who watch Netflix in English, according to digitaltoday.co.kr.
Eligible televisions show a "Discover" button marked with a red gem icon and a "New" label in the top menu. The first experimental feature serves themed recommendations based on mood and viewing situation, including light viewing, scary titles, family movie night and short watches.
Users can narrow results with more specific options or tap "show me something else" to receive new suggestions. Each title comes with play, save-to-list and recommendation-adjustment buttons.
Netflix described AI Discover as a "test kitchen" for new discovery approaches and said it will decide what to keep based on user feedback.
