Nexteen signs 25.44 billion won wafer inspection deal with SK hynix

Nexteen signed a contract with SK hynix on the 6th to supply wafer inspection equipment worth 25.44 billion won, according to digitaltoday.co.kr. The equipment will be produced directly by Nexteen for domestic supply.

The contract amount excluding VAT equals 38.02% of Nexteen's consolidated revenue of 66.9 billion won last year. The contract period runs from the 3rd of this month to November 25 next year.

The order comes as Nexteen's wafer inspection equipment business has been shrinking. In the first half of 2026, the company's wafer inspection equipment order total was 21 billion won, down 36.9% from 33.3 billion won a year earlier, while delivery amount fell 42.3% to 19.8 billion won from 34.3 billion won. At the end of the first half of 2026, the order backlog stood at 9 billion won, down 24.3% from 11.9 billion won a year earlier.

Revenue from the company's products also declined. Product revenue in the first half of 2026 was 18.8 billion won, down about 41% from 31.9 billion won in the first half of 2025, after full-year product revenue fell 53.6% to 46.6 billion won in 2025 from 100.6 billion won in 2024. Consolidated revenue including services was 66.9 billion won in 2025, down from over 110 billion won in 2024.

By product line, KROKY revenue dropped 78.9% to 5.9 billion won in the first half of 2026 from about 28 billion won a year earlier, and AEGIS-II revenue fell 30.8% to 12.6 billion won from 18.2 billion won. AEGIS II exports to China fell 85.6% to 9.8 billion won in 2025 from 67.8 billion won in 2024, while AEGIS III, which had 20.6 billion won in exports in 2024, recorded no export performance since last year. Revenue generated in China dropped to 6.4 billion won in the first half of 2026 from 11.5 billion won in the first half of 2025.

Nexteen has posted a consecutive operating loss for four quarters up to the second quarter of 2026.
