NTT West Trials tsuzumi 2 AI in Ibaraki City Schools
NTT West began an on-premises tsuzumi 2 demonstration for administrative work at some municipal elementary and junior high schools in Ibaraki City on October 13.
NTT West has begun a demonstration project using its domestically developed tsuzumi 2 large language model for administrative work at some municipal elementary and junior high schools in Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture, according to digitaltoday.co.kr. The trial started on October 13.
The system runs on-premises on internal servers instead of an external cloud and applies per-user access permissions. Staff use a dedicated AI application to search and summarize school documents and to draft official documents and reports through chat.
The demonstration is scheduled to run until March 31, 2027. NTT West will evaluate document search and drafting time, the usefulness of AI answers, ease of use and staff willingness to continue using the system.
NTT West described the project as Japan's first demonstration of AI for elementary and junior high school administrative work using a domestic private LLM.
About tsuzumi 2
