Nvidia's $1bn Naver investment payment pushed to November 6

Naver amended its share issuance filing, moving Nvidia's payment to November 6 and the new share listing to November 27, 2026, at 204,500 won per share.

Nvidia will pay its $1 billion strategic equity investment into Naver on November 6, 2026, after Naver amended its paid-in capital increase filing, according to digitaltoday.co.kr. The payment date was moved from October 30, and the listing date for the new shares shifted from November 20 to November 27, 2026.

Nvidia is acquiring newly issued Naver common shares at 204,500 won per share. The provisional number of shares to be issued is 7,241,564, worth about 1.4809 trillion won. The final share count and won amount will be fixed using the Seoul foreign exchange market average rate around 4 p.m. on November 3, 2026.

Once the investment closes, Nvidia is expected to become Naver's third-largest shareholder after the National Pension Service and BlackRock, with an estimated stake of about 4.54%. The new shares are subject to mandatory electronic registration at the Korea Securities Depository, restricting withdrawal and sale for one year.

Earlier groundwork for the AI factory

In July 2026, Naver signed a new share subscription agreement with Nvidia to jointly build a global AI factory, and on July 27, 2026, it signed a $9 billion computing infrastructure contract with Brookfield that satisfied a precondition for the investment. That month's filing calculated the won amount using an exchange rate of 1,480.9 won per dollar.

Naver plans to start 55 MW of infrastructure at its Gak Sejong hyperscale data center in the first half of 2027 and expand to 200 MW by 2028, with a long-term goal of a 1 GW-scale global AI factory.
