Nvidia networking revenue hits $17.5B, topping Cisco's $17.3B total

Nvidia's networking segment also led all vendors in data center Ethernet equipment sales, according to Dell'Oro Group.

Nvidia's networking segment posted $17.5 billion in revenue in its second quarter, exceeding Cisco's total revenue of $17.3 billion for the same period, according to digitaltoday.co.kr. Nvidia also led other vendors in data center Ethernet equipment sales.

The networking business traces back to Nvidia's $6.9 billion acquisition of Mellanox in 2019. Revenue has surged twice since then: first after ChatGPT's launch in 2023, and again during 2024-2025 as Blackwell GPU shipments ramped up.

Nvidia's Spectrum-X Ethernet switches have been widely adopted, including in xAI's Colossus supercomputer and Meta's training clusters. Each GB200 NVL72 rack sale includes nine NVSwitch trays, and NVSwitch is estimated to account for about one-third of Nvidia's networking revenue — up from nearly zero two years ago, according to Dell'Oro Group analyst Sameh Boujelbene.

Nvidia has also opened its interconnect technology to outside chip designers through NVLink Fusion. Marvell, Qualcomm, Arm, Fujitsu and MediaTek have said they will use it.

Boujelbene attributed Nvidia's success to its decision to integrate computing and networking.
