Nvidia drops RTX 5080 from marketplace as street price hits $2,199.99
Nvidia's store no longer lists the GeForce RTX 5080, following the RTX 5090's removal; the cheapest in-stock card found costs about 2.2 times MSRP.
Nvidia has removed the GeForce RTX 5080 from its marketplace, so the card is no longer listed or filtered there, Tom's Hardware reported on October 30, 2026. The move follows the earlier removal of the GeForce RTX 5090 from the same store.
The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and GeForce RTX 5070 are still listed on Nvidia's marketplace, marked as out of stock. The RTX 5080 no longer appears at all.
Availability at U.S. retailers is also running low, with the card selling out. The cheapest in-stock GeForce RTX 5080 found is the PNY GeForce RTX 5080 ARGB Epic-X RGB OC at $2,199.99, about 2.2 times the $999 MSRP.
Tom's Hardware has asked Nvidia for comment on the RTX 5080's status.
Older removal and supply questions
The GeForce RTX 5080 launched in January of last year at $999. The RTX 5090 was removed from Nvidia's marketplace in the period before this change, and Nvidia maintains that the RTX 5090 is still alive. Rumors have claimed Nvidia allegedly stopped producing the RTX 5090 to shift GB202 silicon to its RTX Pro Blackwell lineup, and that the company may introduce a GeForce RTX 5080 24GB as a new flagship gaming card.
