OpenAI's Dots, Anthropic's Claude Duet Take On Work Tasks Autonomously

South Korea ranks third worldwide in weekly active users of OpenAI's Dots, the company's Korea CEO said, as Anthropic trials its own assistant Claude Duet.

OpenAI and Anthropic have each released AI assistants designed to handle work tasks while the user is away, with OpenAI's Dots arriving on September 29, 2026, and Anthropic's Claude Duet entering a trial release on October 21, 2026.

OpenAI Korea CEO Kim Kyung-hoon said on October 22, 2026, at the OpenAI DevDay Exchange: Seoul, that South Korea ranks third worldwide in weekly active users of Dots, according to zdnet.co.kr. Dots is available to users on its Korea-targeted plans.

Dots can be reached through ChatGPT, Slack and Microsoft Teams. Users can open its cloud browser and interact with the assistant directly while it works.

Claude Duet is used through its own app and the Claude web interface, and does not currently show the browser screen the agent is working in, according to zdnet.co.kr. It sends a short morning report gathering tasks from connected email, calendar and messenger apps, and rechecks those apps every few hours.

The Anthropic assistant asks for user approval before sending messages, making payments, signing documents or deleting data, and it does not handle stock trading or bank transfers. Claude Duet shares usage limits with existing Claude plans, and Anthropic is taking waitlist signups from Claude Pro and Max subscribers in the United States.
