OpenAI's GPT-6 lets ChatGPT build playable games inside chat

TechRadar tested GPT-6's Intelligent UI by asking ChatGPT to build games such as Snake, Tetris and Pong directly in the chat window.

OpenAI's GPT-6 includes a feature called "Intelligent UI" that renders interactive elements such as graphics, buttons, input forms and charts directly inside ChatGPT's chat responses, according to TechRadar. The outlet reported on the capability on October 21 and built games with it to test how far it goes.

Users can ask ChatGPT for a game and its rules, and the chat window generates a playable screen without a separate development environment. TechRadar used the feature to build and play variations on Snake, Tetris, Space Invaders, Pac-Man and Pong.

Results varied by request. A Snake variant gained moving obstacles, special items and speed increases tied to the player's score after a cyberpunk theme was applied. ChatGPT titled the Space Invaders-based game "First Contact" and let players choose between combat and negotiation between rounds. The Pac-Man-based "Maze Muncher" combined 1980s arcade and Halloween atmospheres with secret passages and extra enemies, while the Pong variant offered easy, normal and hard difficulty and could randomise rules after each point.

Not every prompt produced a working result on the first attempt. According to TechRadar, some requests returned code instead of a playable screen and needed a second request, and some of the specified variant rules were not reflected exactly.
