Doshisha to crowdfund ORION SCR-B10 retro radio cassette player
The 15.6kg SCR-B10 packs eight speaker drivers, a 60W amplifier and a double cassette deck; crowdfunding runs November 4 to December 31, 2026.
Doshisha will launch a crowdfunding project for the ORION-brand SCR-B10 radio cassette player on GREEN FUNDING on November 4, 2026, according to av.watch.impress.co.jp. The campaign is planned to run from November 4 to December 31, 2026.
The SCR-B10 is built around the look of a large 1980s radio cassette player and is the biggest model in the series. It measures 750mm x 160mm x 375mm (width x depth x height) excluding protrusions and weighs 15.6kg.
Audio hardware includes eight speaker drivers and a 60W Class D amplifier split as 10W+20W+20W+10W. Two roughly 15cm woofers sit one on each side in a rear bass-reflex design with independent left/right level control, and each roughly 15cm full-range driver has a 2.5cm tweeter mounted coaxially at its centre. A horn-type piezo super tweeter handles frequencies above 20kHz.
Playback sources are Bluetooth, MP3 from USB memory, AM/FM radio through a wideband digital tuner with monaural reception, and CD. A double cassette deck supports playback, recording and dubbing with a full-auto-stop mechanism, and recording to tape is possible from CD, radio, Bluetooth, USB, AUX, the built-in microphone and an external microphone input.
The unit runs on AC100V/DC15V household power or ten D-size batteries. Stated battery life is 11 hours for radio, CD and USB MP3 playback, 10 hours for cassette playback and 12 hours for Bluetooth. A remote control, two AAA batteries for it, a power cord and two speaker net covers are included.
During the project the SCR-B10 will be shown at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA's GREEN FUNDING touch-and-try space and at Tsutaya Denki Plus in Futakotamagawa.
