Pixel 11 Owners Report Google Maps Glitches on Android Auto

Google has escalated reports of Maps freezing, flickering and pixelated static on Pixel 11 car displays, with no confirmed fix yet.

Owners of the Pixel 11 are reporting that Google Maps freezes, flickers, lags or shows graphical glitches on Android Auto car displays, according to Android Authority. The problem has been reported over both wired and wireless connections.

Some users say Maps briefly turns into pixelated black static, while YouTube Music and navigation overlays remain stable. Several Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL owners report navigation falling behind, freezing or refusing to load altogether.

Common troubleshooting steps have brought little relief. Clearing app data, reinstalling Maps and Android Auto, switching cables and changing the Android Auto resolution reportedly do little to help.

Google's response

A Community Specialist on Google's Android Auto support forum said the freezing Maps issue was forwarded to the team for investigation. The PixCommunity account also contacted multiple affected Reddit users and asked them to continue troubleshooting over chat.

Newer Maps and Android Auto beta builds may have slightly reduced glitches for some users but have not eliminated them. No confirmed fix is available.
