Poland Opens 1 Billion Zloty Home Energy Storage Subsidy

Applications open on the 20th and run through October 1, 2027, with up to 30% of eligible costs covered.

Poland has announced a 1 billion zloty subsidy program for home energy storage, with applications opening on the 20th and running until October 1, 2027.

The program covers up to 30% of eligible costs at 800 zloty per kWh. Net-billing users can receive a maximum of 16,000 zloty, while net-metering users are capped at 8,000 zloty.

To qualify, electric storage must have a nominal capacity of at least 10 kWh and at least 2 kWh per kWp of the paired solar installation. Subsidized batteries must also include an energy management system (EMS) and island-mode backup capability.

Previous support and market growth

In the second quarter of 2024, home energy storage units in Poland exceeded 10,000. By June 2026, that figure reached approximately 150,000. The government aims to exceed 200,000 units by the end of 2027. A previous subsidy program spent about 112 million zloty to support over 5,000 home electricity storage units.

The program is administered by NFOŚiGW and the Ministry of Climate and Environment, according to aitimes.com.
