PUENTE adds AI manga workflow to Puente AI Anime Factory

PUENTE Inc. has added a manga production workflow to its generative AI anime and music PV service Puente AI Anime Factory, the company announced on November 8, 2026, according to ascii.jp.

The workflow consists of five steps: organizing source and anime materials, panel layout design, generating black-and-white panels, page composition, and supervision and corrections.

As a first application, the company adapted episode 1 of its original anime Oiran Reincarnation into manga. It produced 24 pages of drawn storyboard and 3 sample pages. AI image generation was used for the artwork, while the author decided the original story, panel layout, dialogue and direction. Speech bubbles, text and page composition were assembled programmatically under the author's instructions. The use of AI is stated in an explanatory document attached to the produced work.

Manga production will be offered mainly for in-house works and on a consultation basis. Production of the Oiran Reincarnation manga from episode 2 onward is planned alongside the anime release.

Oiran Reincarnation is a Japanese-style reincarnation action story in which the consciousness of modern ronin student Akito Uesugi merges with courtesan Tayu Kurenai, who collapsed from poison in Edo's Yoshiwara. The anime is being produced as 12 episodes, with episodes up to 6 already released and episodes from 7 onward scheduled weekly on Fridays at 21:00. PUENTE Inc. was established in April 2025.
