QA survey finds 61% of UK workers received no AI cyber threat training
The survey of 1,000 workers also found 22% said their organisation had no policies against phishing, deepfake voice scams or AI-generated fake invoices.
QA has published survey results showing that 61% of UK workers received no training on AI-driven cyber threats in the last 12 months. The survey covered 1,000 people, according to techradar.com.
The findings also show that 22% of workers said their organisation had no policies to combat phishing emails, deepfake voice scams, or AI-generated fake invoices.
Confidence in spotting AI-generated phishing emails was low among non-management workers, with only 9% saying they were very confident. By comparison, 48% of owners or partners and 33% of board directors said they were very confident.
Among workers who did receive training, 25% said it was dedicated to AI-driven threats, while 30% said AI threats were covered as part of generic cybersecurity training.
The survey also found that 39% of 18-24-year-olds admitted worries about being caught out by AI-driven threats.
Background
The survey follows an incident involving Paolo Molesini, former chairman of Fideuram - Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking, who fell victim to an AI-powered phishing attack and wired more than $100 million overseas, as recently reported.
