QALO today announced the SL-1 Smart Band, a screen-free wearable tracker that focuses on health and fitness insights rather than notifications. The device is available to buy starting today at $199.95, and purchases through QALO's website include a spare strap.
The SL-1 tracks a wide range of metrics: movement, sleep, blood oxygenation, heart rate, stress, heart rate variability, and skin temperature. It also can track the wearer's menstrual cycle. All that data is compiled into a daily Q-Score, a 1-100 metric designed to give users a snapshot of their overall health and fitness.
Unlike many competing wearables, the SL-1 has no monthly subscription. The band will also be available at Walmart later in the fall, according to engadget.com.
