Sandisk Optimus GX PRO 8100 2TB Heatsink Model Hits Japanese Retail
The aluminum, anodized-finish cooler version of the PCIe 5.0 drive reaches stores with rated sequential reads of 14,900MB/s and 1,200TBW endurance.
A 2TB model of Sandisk's Optimus GX PRO 8100 PCIe 5.0 SSD fitted with a heatsink has gone on sale at retailers in Japan, according to Akiba PC Watch. The drive reached stores on October 22, 2026.
The heatsink is made of aluminum with an anodized finish. The drive itself uses a PCIe Gen5 x4 interface with NVMe 2.0 and 8th-generation SANDISK BiCS TLC 3D CBA NAND.
Sandisk rates the SSD at sequential read speeds of 14,900MB/s and sequential write speeds of 14,000MB/s. Random performance is listed at 2.3 million IOPS for reads and up to 2.4 million IOPS for writes, with total write endurance of 1,200TBW.
The same 2TB capacity was already available without a heatsink, having been released in September 2026.
