SFC filing: blue hosts only for Apple OLED MacBook Pro panels

SFC's KOSPI registration filing says it supplies blue hosts, not dopants, for Samsung Display's T3 set used in Apple's first OLED MacBook Pro.

SFC disclosed in its securities registration filing for a KOSPI listing that it supplies blue hosts — but not blue dopants — for Samsung Display's T3 material set used in Apple's first OLED MacBook Pro, according to ZDNet Korea. Apple is set to unveil the notebook the following week.

Samsung Display produces the panels on its IT 8.6-generation OLED A6 line. For the T3 set, SFC supplies only the blue hosts for stacks 1 and 2, while the blue dopants went to a competitor, the filing states.

The disclosure marks a narrower role than SFC has held in Samsung Display's mobile material sets. The company said it has supplied both blue hosts and dopants for the M10 through M16 mobile sets for seven consecutive years, and it provided both for the T2 set used in Apple's OLED iPad Pro, mass-produced since 2024.

The filing also set out litigation exposure. SFC said the first-instance damages award of 8 billion won in LG Chem's patent suit equals 37% of its 2025 operating profit of 21.7 billion won. LG Chem filed the suit in December 2024 seeking 33.9 billion won and won partially in September 2026; the Supreme Court ruled in May 2026 that LG Chem's deuterated OLED patent is valid.

Separately, SFC said SK Materials JNC appealed to the Supreme Court on the 22nd in the blue material patent case, after winning at first instance and losing on appeal.

SFC is offering 5 million shares in the listing, with a price range of 31,600 to 36,100 won per share. Its 2025 revenue was 160.8 billion won, with Samsung Display accounting for 76% and Hodogaya 9%. SFC is a joint venture between Samsung Display and Japan's Hodogaya, which holds 52.96% as largest shareholder; Samsung Display's SVIC67 fund holds 29.56%.
