SK케미칼 sets 2030 targets of 2.8tn won revenue, 320bn won profit

SK케미칼 announced its mid- to long-term business strategy and financial targets at its 2026 CEO Investor Day, held at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, according to bloter.net. The company set a 2030 target of 2.8 trillion won in revenue and 320 billion won in operating profit.

SK케미칼 aims to raise its operating profit margin from 7% to 11% by 2030, and targets ROIC and ROE of at least 10% each, excluding listed subsidiary SK Bioscience.

In recycling, the company plans to reach break-even in 2029 and turn the business profitable with 20 billion won in operating profit by 2030. SK케미칼 also plans to begin commercial supply of recycled car mats developed with global auto parts companies in the fourth quarter of this year. In pharmaceuticals, it aims for 50 billion won in operating profit by 2030.

On the AI side, SK케미칼 plans to use its AI agent 'SKAI' to raise sales productivity per salesperson by 16%, and targets 60 billion won in operating profit by 2030 based on operating one AI data center unit.

The company also announced a shareholder return policy for 2026-2028 using at least 30% of separate ordinary net income.

2025 baseline

In 2025, SK케미칼's operating profit was 120 billion won. Its copolyester business posted about 140 billion won in operating profit that year, while the recycling business recorded an operating loss of about 20 billion won.
