The Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) 2026 will be held from November 3 to 5 at the Gran Via venue in Barcelona, organizers announced. The 2026 edition will carry the theme 'Urban Solutions, Real Impact' and feature more than 600 speakers, according to zdnet.co.kr.

The congress will run alongside Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress, the new HOWS Barcelona – Housing World Summit, and Tomorrow.Blue Economy. A Housing Mayors Meeting and Roundtable will be held as part of HOWS Barcelona, organized by Barcelona City Council.

Mayors and regional leaders from four continents will attend, including former Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo, Atlanta mayor Andre Dickens, Athens mayor Haris Doukas, Milan mayor Giuseppe Sala, Budapest mayor Gergely Karácsony, Dublin mayor Daryl Barron and Freetown mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyer.

Nikolas Badminton, chief futurist at Futurist.com, will deliver the congress keynote. Ayumi Moore Aoki, founder of Women in Tech Global, will attend to discuss diversity and inclusion in urban innovation.

Speakers also include Microsoft's Kees Hertogh, Bloomberg Philanthropies' What Works Cities managing director Rochelle Haynes, Dell's Nam Guan Ng, ITU's Bilel Jamoussi and Dahua Technology's John Li.

SCEWC 2026 is expected to draw 27,000 participants and over 1,100 exhibitors, including Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Dell Technologies and Veolia.
