SpaceXSI launches The X Subscription in Japan bundling Grok and Cursor
The X Subscription has five tiers, with Plus at 1,280 yen per month on the web and the old Premium plans closed to new subscribers.
SpaceXSI launched a new subscription service called The X Subscription on October 13, 2026, bundling X Premium, Grok, Grok Bot and Cursor, according to gamebusiness.jp. The service is available in Japan, where the cheapest tier that includes the blue verification badge costs 1,280 yen per month on the web.
The X Subscription offers five tiers: Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra. Plus corresponds to the old X Premium and includes the blue badge, reduced timeline ads, post monetization, editing, long posts, articles, media studio and advanced analytics. Grok and Cursor share a usage quota that refreshes weekly, while Premium and above include Grok Bot, with usage of 4x Plus for Premium, 15x for Super and 50x for Ultra. Using other companies' models such as Claude or GPT in Cursor is billed separately at API list price and is not included in the quota.
According to SpaceXSI, Premium includes 90 dollars per month worth of benefits combining SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+. In Japan, the web price of Plus is 1,280 yen per month, a 300 yen increase of about 31% over the old Premium at 980 yen, and the annual price rises from 10,280 yen to 12,800 yen. The benefits of the old Premium Plus at 6,080 yen per month are available in the new Premium at 5,280 yen per month, a decrease of 800 yen, or about 13%.
Japanese web prices are 1,280 yen monthly or 12,800 yen yearly for Plus, 5,280 yen or 52,800 yen for Premium, 17,800 yen or 178,000 yen for Super, and 34,800 yen or 348,000 yen for Ultra. In-app prices are higher for some tiers, such as Plus at 1,580 yen per month on the iPhone app.
The previous X Premium plans have stopped accepting new subscribers. Existing X Premium contracts are not changed automatically and keep their plan, price and features. SpaceXSI plans to move remaining subscribers to the new plans in the future, with the timing undecided and to be announced in advance, according to the background information.
Switching plans is irreversible
Switching plans is done from X's subscription settings and cannot be reversed, and cannot be restored even by support. X benefits are limited to personal accounts, and accounts managed by organizations are not eligible.
