STORES launches in-store music service STORES BGM

The service offers about 6,000 copyright-cleared tracks and is free for STORES Standard subscribers, with a standalone BGM-only plan also available.

STORES launched STORES BGM, a music service for shops, the company announced on October 20, 2026. Subscribers to the STORES Standard plan can use it with no extra application or fee.

The service distributes about 6,000 tracks, mainly original music that has been cleared of copyright issues. Playlists can be chosen by business type, mood and genre, and the music switches automatically by time of day.

STORES BGM also includes an announcement feature that inserts pre-recorded AI-voice announcements at set times or on set weekdays, plus offline playback. No dedicated equipment or construction work is required: the service runs from smartphones, tablets and similar devices, through an app or a web browser.

Standalone plan for BGM only

Businesses that want only background music can choose a standalone BGM-only plan. It costs 23,520 yen for a two-year lump-sum contract, 17,760 yen per year on a one-year contract, or 1,980 yen per month on a monthly contract. The STORES Standard plan costs 39,600 yen per year, equivalent to 3,300 yen per month.

STORES BGM is a renamed version of BGM Pro, and its operator has changed from Easy to STORES. The company has until now provided services needed for store operations, such as payments, POS registers and online shops.
