T-Mobile Raises Regulatory Fees by $1 per Voice Line

The increase took effect October 12, lifting the combined Regulatory Programs and Telco Recovery fee to $5.49 a month per voice line.

T-Mobile raised its combined Regulatory Programs and Telco Recovery fees by $1.00 per voice line, from $4.49 to $5.49 a month, effective October 12, according to CNET. Mobile internet line fees rose $0.50 on the same date, from $2.10 to $2.60 a month.

The change applies to all lines. T-Mobile previously raised these fees in April 2025, taking voice lines from $3.49 to $3.99 and mobile internet lines from $1.40 to $1.60.

The increase follows similar moves by its two largest rivals. AT&T raised its Administrative and Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee from $3.99 to $4.99 per line in August, and Verizon lifted its own fees in August 2025 to $3.78 a month for voice lines and $3.97 for data-only lines.

AT&T also applied price increases to more legacy plans in August, including plans that were replaced by its 2.0 lineup. T-Mobile, for its part, said in June that it would move some customers to new plans, with increases of up to $6 per line per month in some cases — a decision that prompted at least one informal FCC complaint.

Verizon's myPlan plans now cost $10 more per line for new customers than at the beginning of 2026. The carrier announced the Simplicity plan in August, after carrying holiday deal pricing from December 2025 through the summer.
