TECNO and visual artist Angélica Dass have unveiled a two-year global portrait project called 100 Portraits of Becoming. The initiative spans Kenya, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Brazil.
The project launched with its first 20 portraits and personal stories from Kenya. Its goal is to bring together 100 individuals and 100 stories of identity, choice, change and growth.
TECNO's Universal Tone technology addresses representing people across diverse skin tones naturally and accurately. The company said the project reflects that focus on inclusive imaging.
Dass said Kenya showed her that meaningful portraits begin with trust and listening. Jack Guo, General Manager at TECNO, is also involved in the project.
