Thanko has launched the Rakua Plus (model STDP26SWH), a tank-type countertop dishwasher that can be set with a reservation timer, according to Akiba PC Watch. The unit is priced at 39,800 yen on Thanko's official online store.
The dishwasher holds dishes for 2 to 3 people, or 15 to 17 items, and can fit a frying pan up to 28 cm in diameter when the upper tray is removed. It washes with water at up to 70 degrees Celsius through upper and lower double nozzles.
Thanko also offers sets with an electric water supply pump, a steel rack and a sink-side rack, priced at 44,280 yen, 47,780 yen and 48,280 yen respectively.
One wash uses about 5 liters of water, which the company says saves roughly 7,000 yen in water bills per year compared with washing by hand. A button cancels the hot-air drying cycle, and the reservation timer can be set in one-hour units for up to 18 hours.
The unit measures 425 mm wide, 425 mm deep and 455 mm high, or 760 mm deep with the door open, and weighs about 13 kg. It runs on 100 V at 50/60 Hz, and the package includes the main unit, upper and lower trays, a water supply hose, a drain hose, a basket, a clip and a water cup.
