Vectron65 Plus Enters 2026 Retrocomputer Challenge
Nick Bild's Vectron65 Plus home computer, now with a 6502 co-processor VGA text mode, has been entered in the 2026 Retrocomputer Challenge.
Nick Bild has entered his Vectron65 Plus home computer project in the 2026 Retrocomputer Challenge, according to Hackaday. The project is a continuation of the Vectron65 line, which Hackaday first covered in 2019.
The Vectron65 Plus includes a VGA Plus Text Mode expansion board that carries its own 6502 co-processor. Also part of the project are two versions of a VGA graphics card capable of 640×480 output.
From breadboard to the challenge
Since the original build, the Vectron65 has moved from breadboard to PCB, and a newer version called the 65 Plus added more RAM and GPIO ports. Hackaday previously covered an early 7400-series VGA graphics card and a VR add-on for the first Vectron65.
