Revitalization Unlimited has proposed a 20-story vertical data center in central Kansas City on approximately 0.23 acres of land, according to techradar.com. The project remains subject to approval.

The tower would provide 24 MW of IT capacity, with only two of its 20 floors containing computing equipment. The proposed development cost is $183 million, or about $1,300 per square foot.

The facility would seek a power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.25 and rely on 30 MW of Bloom fuel cells for primary power generation, the proposal states. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) is the designer.

A related development ordinance is currently listed as pending until October 13, 2026.
