Zinwa P26 Turns BlackBerry Passport Into Android Phone
Zinwa Technologies will open pre-orders for the P26, an Android 14 retrofit of the BlackBerry Passport, on October 3. It packs a Helio G99, 12GB RAM, and 256GB storage.
Zinwa Technologies is preparing to sell an Android-running retrofit of the BlackBerry Passport called the P26. Pre-orders start on October 3, with shipments expected around late October, according to Android Authority.
The P26 pairs the Passport's iconic square screen and physical keyboard with modern internals: a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, 12GB RAM, and 256GB storage. It runs Android 14 and includes a 3,900mAh battery, USB-C port, 50MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
One notable omission is 5G support. The device is a retrofit rather than a new BlackBerry, and Zinwa already sells a P26 DIY kit for $620 excluding shipping.
What to expect
For fans of the Passport's form factor, the P26 offers a way to run current Android apps on familiar hardware. Pricing for the pre-built P26 has not been disclosed.
