Crunchyroll has added an English dub of the Gunma-chan anime, according to animenewsnetwork.com. Voice actor Shakyra Dunn confirmed that she voices Buchi, Francoise, Meemi's Mom and other characters in the English version.
The series centers on Gunma-chan, the mascot of Gunma Prefecture in Japan. The pony character debuted in 1994 as the "Yūma-chan" mascot for a sports competition and took on the Gunma-chan role in 2008, replacing an earlier design used since the 1980s.
The first anime season premiered on Tokyo MX and other channels in October 2021, running 39 seven-minute episodes, with the final episode airing in December 2021. Gunma Prefecture had said it planned to stream the anime worldwide with Japanese audio and English, French and Chinese subtitles after the TV broadcast finished.
A second season premiered in April 2023, with the main cast and staff returning at studio Ascension.
