Edgerunners II Won't Canonize Any Cyberpunk 2077 Ending
Showrunner Bartosz Sztybor says the anime sequel's team worked with the lore team to find a world state that fits every game ending.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II will not establish a canon ending for Cyberpunk 2077, showrunner Bartosz Sztybor said in an interview with IGN. The sequel's staff consulted the lore team to find a world state that could satisfy all of the game's endings, he added.
According to Sztybor, the only firm post-game canon detail is that Arasaka is weakened. More comic books and other material may suggest what the state of the world is after the game, he said.
The sequel's story is set after the events of Cyberpunk 2077, unlike the first season. On October 20, 2026, fans on social media argued that a face in an Arasaka database in the new season was a V cameo, pointing to a character resembling the default female V with a red undercut. In the first Edgerunners season, Rogue makes a brief appearance but does not appear in the second season.
Cyberpunk 2 is currently in development at CD Projekt Red.
