Ohara's Earlier Work
Ohara ended the first Chiko, Heiress of the Phantom Thief (Nijū-Mensō no Musume) manga in 2007 after five years and eight volumes. Ohara launched the spinoff series Nijū-Mensō no Musume: Utsushiyo Yoru in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Flapper in October 2007. Kadokawa published the 11th and final volume in 2014. The Nijū-Mensō no Musume stories are loosely based on the Kaijin Nijū-Mensō (The Fiend with 20 Faces) novels by Ranpo Edogawa. The first manga series inspired a television anime in April 2008.
