Ace Combat 8 Steam Patch Adds Async Computing Toggle

Bandai Namco's Ver.1.01.002 update for the Steam version lets players turn asynchronous computing on or off to address some crash cases.

Bandai Namco Entertainment released the Ver.1.01.002 update for the Steam version of ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE on November 2, according to gamespark.jp. The patch adds an option in the SYSTEM menu that lets players turn asynchronous computing ON or OFF on GPUs suited to the feature.

The company said it had confirmed cases where asynchronous computing affected stability in some GPU environments, and the new toggle is aimed at those cases.

Bandai Namco added that it is continuing to investigate and fix multiple other causes of the crashes. The Steam version had been reported to crash during play, and the company had previously said the issue is likely not caused by specific hardware configurations alone.

ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE is available for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
