Alien: Isolation 2 heads outdoors to Kurasaki Station with a smarter Xenomorph
Creative Director Al Hope says the sequel takes place months after the first game and introduces a new protagonist named Blake.
Alien: Isolation 2 is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2, and its development team has revealed new details about its setting and gameplay in a Q&A video on YouTube, according to bloody-disgusting.com.
The sequel is set in the colony known as Kurasaki Station. Creative Director Al Hope said the game takes place months after the events of the first game and introduces a new protagonist named Blake.
Art Director Ana Sopikova said the sequel's planetary exteriors include storms, hail and rain. Senior Core Gameplay Designer Noelie Prost said the Xenomorph has new behaviours and will use the weather to hide its movements and hunt more aggressively outdoors.
Prost also said the outdoor spaces are about 10 times bigger than those in the first game. The original Alien: Isolation was set in the confined corridors of the Sevastopol space station and took place about 15-16 years after the events of the 1979 Alien film, with protagonist Amanda.
