Amazon Japan says it acts on guideline-breaking game guides, AI or not
Amazon Japan told Game*Spark it screens and removes content that violates its guidelines, but gave no individual answers on the suspicious guides.
Amazon Japan G.K. has responded to an inquiry from Game*Spark about suspicious game strategy guides sold on Amazon.co.jp, saying it takes action against content that violates its content guidelines regardless of whether it was made with AI. The company gave no individual answers to the questions submitted.
In a statement issued through its public relations department, Amazon said it sets measures to protect the customer experience and is constantly strengthening them. It said content that breaches its guidelines is addressed both by preventing violations in advance and by continuously checking the store to detect and remove such material.
Amazon added that it will keep monitoring its store and strengthening these efforts as technology and the publishing industry change, according to Game*Spark.
The questions put to the company covered screening of book sales, handling of AI-generated content, preventing confusion with official products, measures on flagged products, remedies for buyers and future measures.
It remains unclear whether Amazon has found the books reported by Game*Spark to violate its content guidelines, or whether it is investigating or suspending their sales.
