YouTuber: Ubisoft making two Assassin's Creed games, Mars and Pocket

YouTuber Xj0nathan reported that Ubisoft is working on two new Assassin's Creed games, codenamed Mars and Pocket. The claim was picked up by Eurogamer.

According to the report, Mars is set in ancient Rome, and Xj0nathan says two sources with access to Ubisoft's backend systems backed up that information. The Rome setting is reportedly likely to be tied to the upcoming Assassin's Creed TV series.

The second title, Pocket, is described as a mobile game set in Jerusalem. It is said to play somewhat like the Mastery Challenge mode from Assassin's Creed Valhalla and to look similar to the most recent Prince of Persia. The hero's mentor in Pocket is reportedly a character called Myriam.

Insider Gaming said it had heard the same codenames but could not confirm them well enough to report them independently. The outlet does not expect anything about Mars to be heard until 2029 or 2030, if it moves into full production.

Ubisoft has not commented on the report. Less than a week before the article, the company issued a statement saying there are currently no new remakes of past Assassin's Creed games in the works.

In 2010, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood was set in the Renaissance version of Rome. Last month, Insider Gaming's sources claimed Assassin's Creed Hexe, the next mainline game, had been delayed internally by another year, likely to 2028, while other reports claim Hexe will be shown next year. Former Assassin's Creed boss Marc-Alexis Côté has left Ubisoft.
