Auroch Digital opens redundancy consultation over quarter of roles

The Bristol studio says the layoffs follow market conditions and that it is restructuring to work through a turbulent time in the industry.

Auroch Digital has begun a redundancy consultation process affecting around a quarter of roles at the studio, the Bristol-based developer announced on October 26, 2026. The company said the layoffs follow market conditions that have challenged other developers.

Auroch Digital said it is restructuring the studio to work through what it described as a turbulent and uncertain time in the industry. The studio asked its industry partners to consider finding places for affected staff.

According to gamesindustry.biz, Auroch Digital's LinkedIn page lists the studio as employing between 51 and 200 staff.

Sumo Group acquired Auroch Digital in 2021 for $8.3m. Over the past year the studio delivered Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 and Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!.

The consultation follows other workforce cuts across the sector. Last week, German developer Fishlabs announced reductions impacting its development and support teams.
