Biohazard 30th Anniversary Exhibition Press Event Held Ahead of October 30 Opening

Comedian Eiko Kano, voice actor Toshiyuki Morikawa and producer Masao Kawada attended the preview at Shibuya Take Off 7.

A press event for The World of Biohazard 30th Anniversary Exhibition was held on October 29 at Shibuya Take Off 7 in Tokyo, one day before the exhibition opens, according to gamebiz.jp. The exhibition runs from October 30 to December 24, a total of 56 days, at Shibuya Beam Gallery.

Comedian Eiko Kano, voice actor Toshiyuki Morikawa, who plays Leon S. Kennedy, and Capcom Biohazard series producer Masao Kawada appeared at the event. The MC was Risa Uchi, a series fan who named Leon as her favourite character. Attendees wore the 30th anniversary key visual T-shirt sold as exhibition merchandise, designed with characters from across the series.

History Wall and theater area

The exhibition's History Wall traces the series chronologically from the mansion incident through bio-terror, and displays packages of past titles. A theater area uses three large screens to show gameplay footage and cutscenes from multiple titles, with the footage converging toward the end.

In the “Evidence of Horror” area, Kano drew the laser trap scene during a one-minute drawing segment. A life-size figure of Albert Wesker is also on display, with a hidden mechanism visitors must find by watching it for a certain time. The track “Wind of Madness,” used in the Biohazard 5 Wesker fight, plays in that exhibit area.

The Biohazard series was born in 1996 and marks its 30th anniversary this year. Kano said he first encountered Biohazard in the first year of junior high school, while Kawada said he joined Capcom before the first game was released but was not directly involved in its development, later working on graphics for Biohazard 3. Morikawa said he first voiced Leon in Biohazard 6 and later played a younger Leon in Biohazard RE:2.
