Ubisoft Details Final Major Update for Black Flag Resynced

Version 1.0.8 adds a Nightmare difficulty and brings back takedowns from the original 2013 game when it lands October 27.

Ubisoft has detailed patch notes for version 1.0.8 of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, the final major update for the game, which launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on October 27. The publisher outlined the contents of the patch, including a new Nightmare difficulty, a New Game Plus mode and additional rewards, according to gamesradar.com.

Nightmare difficulty raises the stakes across combat and exploration. Enemies deal 1.8x normal damage, parries are harder to pull off and one-shot kill protection is switched off. Stealth is also tougher, enemy ships hit harder, and sea creatures such as sharks and jellyfish become more dangerous.

The New Game Plus mode restarts the main quest while carrying over items collected in a previous run, and world difficulty climbs with each playthrough. New cosmetics, including outfits, pet skins and trinkets, can be earned through it, and the update also brings bug fixes.

Ubisoft is adding new community chests as well, described as harder to find and holding special rewards requested by the community. The patch also restores several takedowns from the original 2013 game, among them hidden blade, unarmed, single sword and gunblade animations.

Ubisoft broke a months-long silence on the game last week by revealing that a New Game Plus mode was on the way.
