Blizzard Details Final Racial Ability Changes for World of Warcraft: Forever

Human, Dwarf, Tauren, Orc and Skyborne elf racials have been adjusted ahead of the game's November 4 launch.

Blizzard Entertainment has posted a final round of racial ability changes for World of Warcraft: Forever ahead of the game's November 4 launch, according to GameSpot. The adjustments cover Human, Dwarf, Tauren, Orc and Skyborne elf racials and follow beta feedback from players.

For Humans, Ruthless now grants 1% critical strike chance instead of 2%, while Spirit rises from 5% to 10%. Dwarf Earth Fury has been removed and replaced with Artisan's Precision, which increases hit chance with spells and attacks by 1%.

Tauren Plainsrunning now grants 2% movement speed per stack up to a maximum of 60%, but no longer increases mounted movement speed. Tauren Endurance no longer provides hit chance or critical damage modifiers.

Orc Savage has been removed and Command re-added, increasing Warlock and Hunter pet damage by 5%. Among Skyborne elves, Wind-Blessed's haste bonus drops to 2% from 3%, while Read Leyline now increases Mana and Health regeneration by 50% for 15 seconds and grants Attuned for 1 hour at a ley line, and Skysight grants 15% increased movement speed for 15 seconds plus Charged for 1 hour at an elemental convergence.

Blizzard said weapon-specialization racials were removed because they would skew raid and dungeon loot tables. Community manager Kaivax relayed the changes.

Separately, Blizzard said in October 2026 that the game will get a new PvP-server option, and that its controversial layering system will see improvements in time for launch.
