Skydance imposes five-day office return, offers buyouts

The policy covers Skydance Games, DC Comics and other media holdings, and comes with a voluntary buyout program aimed at cutting headcount.

Skydance has told employees across its business to return to the office five days a week, according to kotaku.com. The mandatory policy applies to Skydance Games as well as DC Comics and the company's other media holdings.

Alongside the return-to-office notice, Skydance is setting up a voluntary buyout program aimed at reducing headcount. The company has not said how many roles it expects to cut.

The changes land shortly after Paramount and Warner Bros. completed their merger under the name Skydance in October 2026, in a deal valued at $110 billion.

Earlier cuts at WB Games

Skydance's games division took shape against a backdrop of consolidation at Warner Bros. In 2025, WB Games shut down Monolith Productions, which had been working on a Wonder Woman game, along with Player First Games and Warner Bros. San Diego. WB said at the time that the restructuring was meant to shift focus to core game franchises including Harry Potter and Mortal Kombat.

Netflix, for its part, did not factor WB Games' value when it tried to outbid Paramount Skydance for Warner Bros. last year.
