The Blood of Dawnwalker passes 1 million sales in two days

GameSpark visited Rebel Wolves' Warsaw office, where the studio said the dark fantasy RPG's development budget was 40 million dollars.

The Blood of Dawnwalker sold more than 1 million copies worldwide in roughly two days after its September 3, 2026 launch, according to a GameSpark report from Rebel Wolves' Warsaw office. The open-world dark fantasy action RPG is the first title from the Polish studio.

The game's Steam user review approval rate currently stands at 87%, and wishlist registrations reached 3 million ahead of release. Rebel Wolves said the development budget was 40 million dollars.

Rebel Wolves was founded in 2022 and has grown to 166 employees, developing the studio and the game at the same time. Two years before this article, it released gameplay footage showing the project as it stood in development.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is set in 14th-century Europe and follows Coen, a Dawnwalker who is neither fully human nor fully vampire. The game has no side quests, only main quests, and its story runs across 30 days and 30 nights before the antagonist Brencis is crowned ruler of Vale Sangora.

Studio leadership and recognition

Rebel Wolves was founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who directed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at CD Projekt Red. The studio's in-house composers have won the Polish Fryderyk music award four times, and Weekly Famitsu featured the game on its cover.
