SEGA: Chain Chronicle Maintenance Could Last 1–2 Months

SEGA says security issues in Chain Chronicle may require large-scale repairs across the whole app, with about a month for investigation alone.

SEGA said on October 30 that the emergency maintenance for its mobile game Chain Chronicle is expected to continue for at least one to two months, according to automaton-media.com.

The company stated that security problems have been confirmed in some of the game's systems, and that the issue may require large-scale repairs across the whole app, not just system updates. SEGA said about one month is needed for investigation, and a similar period may be needed for the subsequent response.

SEGA added that no unauthorized access or data leaks have been confirmed so far.

The game went into emergency maintenance at 17:00 on October 23 for safety reasons, to check the security of the app and servers.

An official radio program for the game airing on November 2 will feature the general director and a director explaining the current situation.

Long-running title

Chain Chronicle was released by SEGA for smartphones in July 2013. In July 2026, the game marked 12 years since launch, with more than 1,800 characters and over 30 million characters of scenario text.
